Thank you for viewing our class page. Here you will find information and photographs of what we have been learning in school.

Please remember to come to school organised making sure you bring your reading record signed by a parent or guardian daily. You will also need to bring a water bottle to school every day. Remember to name all of your belongings.

Our PE days will be Wednesdays and Fridays. Our uniform on these will be a red or white polo top/PE t-shirt as well as black or grey joggers/shorts and trainers. On Monday afternoons we will be swimming please bring your swimming costume, a towel and goggles. Remember earrings will need to be removed for PE and swimming. 

Homework will be given on a Thursday and is to be returned by the following Tuesday. Spellings will be given on a Friday to learn by the following Friday. Reading and times tables should be completed daily. 

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

⛺️ �� �� �� �� �� Key Stage 2 enjoyed their outdoor learning day today. We enjoyed tasting s'mores, making bubble wands, completing a scavenger hunt, playing rounders, designing a tent flag and ending with water fun! Thank you to all parents who took the time to pitch and take down their tents, it made the day even better. ��

Shona from Asda delivered a workshop to remind us about keeping healthy. We learnt new games to help us exercise and keep fit. We blew some bubbles to help us control our breathing. We recapped the five food groups and the nutrients they provide. We then prepared and produced some delicious smoothies.

In science we have been learning about muscles. We now know they relax, contract and work in pairs. We created a model of an arm to show this process.

In Geography chose a state from the USA to research. We then produced a report to show our findings.

In PSHE we designed and taught our own games to show the importance of listening and teamwork

�� Key Stage 2 had a fantastic time at Berwick Academy yesterday. They took part in the 'Race to the North Pole' challenge. They had to design, build, test and make changes to get their sleigh to reach the North Pole. ��

In maths we are learning to use arrays. We made our own arrays in class,

Author James Nicol showed us his latest book 'Cloud Thief' he then delivered a writing workshop.

In our computing lesson we learnt about the importance of creating secure passwords. We then created password generators to help us create strong passwords.

The circus is in town... Class 3 were introduced to their new class text this week 'Leon and the Place Between' They enjoyed using their senses to explore different parts of the circus. They tasted and smelled candy floss and popcorn. They heard the sounds of the circus and explored circus activities.

�� Key Stage 2 had some special visitors this week they introduced us to the book 'Faedom.' They were sent on behalf of the author of the book. They even left us some activities do to. ��‍♀️

Taekwondo

To celebrate our learning of Hindu Dharma so far, we learnt about the festival of Diwali. We listened to the story, danced to Hindu Dharma prayer music and created some fabulous Rangoli patterns.

In our music lessons with Ms Ord we are learning to sing in a round. We can sing 'Have you seen the ghost of Tom?' In three parts.

In science we read food labels to find out nutritional values of different foods

Our Heritage Hero Projects

We took part in a virtual author event through Seven Stories. We met author Simon Stephenson and we learnt about his new book, 'The Snowman Code'.

As part of our Design and Technology work we used atlas' to locate where different foods grow around the world and the type of climate they need to grow.

Science Club from Newcastle Life Centre- We learnt lots about skeletons

Linda Bankier from Northumberland Archives delivered a fantastic historical workshop. We were able to look at the our town in the 1930s and 1950s and see how it has changed over time. We were able to see images of the town and understand how Lowry would have seen it.
