Thank you for viewing our class page. Here you will find information and photographs of what we have been learning in school.
Please remember to come to school organised making sure you bring your reading record signed by a parent or guardian every day. You will also need to bring a water bottle to school every day.
Our PE days will be Wednesdays and Fridays. Our uniform on these days will be a red or white polo top/PE t-shirt as well as black or grey joggers/shorts and trainers. On Monday afternoons we will be swimming please bring your swimming costume, a towel and goggles. Remember earrings will need to be removed on these days.

We have been building a castle out of 3D shapes which we constructed ourselves. We used used different shape nets to make a 3D structure. This is part of our Design and Technology work.
We have been learning to understand how shadow is formed and how it changes at different times of the day.
Class 3 had a fantastic transition day with Sam and Spike. They composed their own music, wrote their own poems and danced a pavan. All of this supports their take one picture work.
Beach Day
Skipping Festival
Class 3 investigated different materials. They were trying to find the best material for Mr Rabbits burrow curtains. They explained which materials were transparent, translucent and opaque and concluded which material blocked light best.
We have been learning about 3D shapes and their properties. We built our own 3D shapes in different ways.

We made torch projectors to test different objects to see if they were reflective.

In RE we sequenced the story of the founding of Judaism
We took photographs on plants in our school grounds, found pollinators and demonstrated seed dispersal.
In science we are investigating the amount of water a plant needs to grow and if a plant can only grow in soil.

Bike week
In maths we are learning to count pounds and pence. Here we are problem solving. We are trying to find all the ways to make 50p only using silver coins
We enjoyed a skipping session with Mr Skippy. We learnt some new skips including side swing, cross over, speed bounce and double bounce.
Plants- We named the parts and identified the function, we investigated stem transportation, dissected and named the parts of a flower and demonstrated the pollination process.
L S Lowry- we made observation about his artwork in class and walked our local Lowry Trail.
We enjoy our music lessons with Ms Ord. Here we are using body percussion to identify patterns within music.

We have been learning to complete a fair test to answer the question 'which magnet is strongest?'
We went on a walk around town to identify local landmarks
As part of local geography week we visited Berwick visitor centre. We had a lovely morning learning about our town and how it has changed over time. We are also given a trebuchet activity to complete back at school.
In PSHE we have been learning to identify and explain different relationships within families.
In science we completed a fair test to answer the questions 'which surface causes the most friction'
In geography we have been learning to create a cloropleth map and identify geographical conclusions

We worked with Jaquai and Bev in our PSHE lesson. They put us in groups to design our own villages.

Storytelling Week
We chose a state from the USA to research. Using our research we produced a report.
We had a visit from the staff at Brucegate Dental Practice reminding us how to look after our teeth

We are used classification keys to classify sweets representing rocks
For World Religion Day we met Jas from the North East Sikh Service who shared about Sikh beliefs and worship.

We received a personalised letter from Santa and a book from the elves.
Class 3 have designed, prepared and made seasonal vegetable tarts. They had to consider the different types of vegetables they would use so that they had a wide range of nutrients.

Our science investigation: Do people with longer femurs jump further?

We made Winston finger puppets; a character from our Class text. We then wrote a character description.
Since we had some snow we decided to do some Science. We put snow in a jar and predicted how much we would have left once it melted. We also used thermometers to measure and compare the temperature

We wrote letters to Santa. We identified the key features of a formal letter and included them in our letter writing.
We made fruit skewers as part of our Design & Technology work
Show and tell for 'No Pens Day'
We have been story detectives. We answered questions using our inference skills to work out how mystery objects were linked.
We used charcoal today to scale our drawings. We enlarged them and worked on how we could create different effects with the charcoal.


We used Vex Go to create a blue print so that we could name the parts correctly
As part of our non-fiction unit work we used travel brochures to identify features of non fiction texts
We wrote poems for Remembrance Day
We drew around our bodies and labelled the bones in our skeleton

As part of Arts week we practised and sequenced our own autumn mirror dance to show how we use sight
We painted pumpkin artwork based on Polka Dot Pumpkins by the artist Yayoi Kusama.
In Class 3 we had a visit from Shona (Asda community champion) we learnt about how we look after ourselves. We learnt we need a balanced diet, exercise and a healthy mindset.
