Can Help Others In Crisis Experience Stability
(Community based mental health organisation)
Choices4Growth is a counselling service for the whole community and was recently formed by experienced counsellors Jacqui Davison and Michele Kane.
The aim is to deliver a wraparound service whilst providing; support, signposting and counselling for better mental health and positive futures for the whole community.
Between them, Jacqui and Michele have over 22 years’ experience working in Northumberland care and support services.
For the past 11 years Jacqui and Michele have respectively worked in Berwick schools supporting children, parents/carers, guardians, staff and other professionals. Both counsellors supported those in the community who were not experiencing good mental health whilst working under the umbrella of a different organisation, Place2Be, a London based children’s mental health charity. Place2Be no longer supply support in the area.
1 in 4 people in the UK experience Mental Health issues, the North East has one of the highest suicide rates
This crisis was the deciding factor for Jacqui and Michele to embark on their journey that Berwick and surrounding areas would have continued much needed support.
‘C4G’ or ‘Choices’ as it is increasingly becoming known, is Berwick based and has its main office in Arch Workspace.
They also currently provide support in Tweedmouth Prior Park First School on Tuesday and Wednesday each week of term. They also provide support to Tweedmouth Community Middle School each Thursday.
Jacqui and Michele are both qualified and experienced in working with a range of issues; anxiety, bereavement/loss, depression, relationships, domestic abuse/violence, substance misuse and addiction, divorce, rape, gender identity, suicide/suicide ideation, LGBT, family mediation, migrant and refugees, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
