Reception Class 2020 - 2021
Welcome to our class page. Please look at this page regularly and you will be able to see what the children
in Reception Class have been learning about and the fun they have been having. This is also where you can access your child's home learning. Every week I will put up a timetable for you to follow at home. Work packs can be collected from school tomorrow which will have everything you need to access the home learning on the timetable. You then need to complete the work at home and hand it back to school on Friday and the collect the following week's work. Please get in touch with school if you have any questions or need any further help.

Autmn, Harvest and Halloween
This week Reception have been very busy learning about Autumn and doing some of their very own Autumn Art. We have also learned about Harvest and thought about where all our food comes from. Then on Thursday because we had all been working so hard, we had a Halloween Party and made our own costumes. It has been a very busy week!
We have has a busy week finishing off our castle work creating amazing castles and crowns. Working very hard on our phonics and numicorn. One day we played counting games, we loved the fishing game!! P.E this week we have been climbing, jumping and ball skills.
This week we have been learning all about castles. The children have looked at castles in our local area; Berwick Castle, Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island Castle, Norham Castle and Alnwick Castle. Some castles were ruins but some castles, people still live in. We tried building our own castles with Lego and bricks. The children were very good at remembering the different parts of a castle, such as the turrets, the drawbridge and the dungeons and tried to make sure their castles had these parts in. In Boogie Beats and Yoga we danced like Kings, Queens, Princes and Princesses. It has been a lot of fun!
We have also worked hard with the Numicon so that we recognise each Numicon piece quickly. we even built Numicon castles.
Star of the Week and Golden Quill winners
Today the children have had a great time making music! We have learnt all the names of the different instruments and tried to keep a beat when singing lots of the nursery rhymes we know. 'The Grand Old Duke of York' was our favourite today.
First days in Reception Class
We have all had so much fun coming back to school and seeing our friends again. We are all enjoying playing and learning together in our new class.
Every Tuesday, Rhiannon from Yogi Bairns comes to do yoga with us. We all have to concentrate carefully to recreate the different poses.
