Welcome to Class 1's web page!

Welcome to the Summer Term!

It has been lovely seeing all of your smiling faces back after the Easter holidays and hearing all about the toys and lovely chocolate eggs you all had over our half term holidays!

Our topics this half term are: Plants, the seaside, King Charles and How we can become successful members of society.

PE days this half term:
Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons - please remember a water bottle and to remove any earrings.

Homework and reading:

Reading is given each night (which could be a word sheet from your phonics book or the coloured phonic reading book) please read each night.
Spellings - spellings will be given and tested in class each Monday beginning next week (week beginning 12th September)
Additional homework will be given out on a Friday to be completed by the following Thursday which is given in yellow homework books.

Beach trip 2023

In maths, we have been learning to explore weight using balance scales. We have been using the language "heavier, lighter and equal weights".

Collaborative learning with Year 4's

05.05.23 Coronation party day

Class 1's trip to the river Tweed: We have been learning about different environments in geography. As part of our local geography week, we visited the river Tweed.

Repotting our beans so we can observe and record growth. We have been learning about the conditions for growth in science.

D&T - Fruit and vegetable tasting. We are evaluating existing products in order to inform our design.
